CD-ROM not working; OS problem

Hi, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be in this section, or the software section. Sorry if it's in the wrong section. Ok, here's the problem: My CD/DVD player (DH20A4P) won't read non-audio CDs/DVDs. I know it works, because I hooked it up to another computer and it works fine on there, and I can boot up in a live CD. If I boot into windows (I run XP) with a CD or DVD in, it reads it fine until I eject it. Then it just stops working. Thanks in advance!
