im having a problem with my cd--rom drive.when i put a blank disk in my drive it doesn't detect it,so when i try to burn something it says "no media in drive"and ejects the disk.however, when i use a disk that already has data on it that i burned previously(i burn almost everything as data)it detects the disk and burns with no problem whatsoever.i dont think its software related because i even tried updating from nero5.9 to nero 6,but the same strange problem occurs.i was wondering if anyone knew why it doesnt detect new disks but works fine if its a disk ive already burned some data on before this problem developed, which was about a week ago.my OS is xp.any help would be much appreciated, thanks

You could try cleaning the lens or using better quality disks.
