CD-ROM reading problem

    I have an ASUS laptop running XP and have a problem with the CD-ROM drive.

    It sees a disc with MP3 audio files made from iTunes but when I put in a prerecorded audio disc bought from a store it will not recognize the files (not sure if they are ACC or WAV files). I tried opening the discs in Windows Media Player and iTunes and both say there is no disc in the drive but both programs will open MP3 file discs.

    Any help would be appreciated,
