Cd-rom

I just bought the Warcraft Battlechest and there is a little problem.
The CD is not need to play games online(only need to actually start up the game), and i want it to be feeding of the CD not my Computer.
Is there a setting i can chage to fix this matter.
The games gets really laggy and slow.

that would have been an option in the setup. in the setup it would have asked if you wanted to load all the files from the cd onto the hardrive (a full installation) or only like minimal files onto the hardrive. I would reinstall the game and make sure you do not pick full install because what that does is install all the files from the cd to your computer so you don't need the disk to play. the minimal only loads files such as your profile and shortcuts and stuff onto yoru computer (only the essential stuff) and that way it will have to run from the cdrom.

 

If the game is "laggy and slow" now, it's not going to be any better-- and perhaps worse-- if you run it off the CD.

 

yeah thats true. it generlaly should be faster on your hardrive then a cd rom drive.
