i have an old 4x4x36 cd-rw drive that is having some problems. its the favorite cd burner i've ever owned, and i dont want to get rid of it. i realize its slow but my 48x dell drive is crap. so i've been trying to burn cd's with the old one, but it wont write audio cd's. when i burn a data cd it finishes no prob, but on audio it doesnt even get the table of contents done....it gives an error message, but the error is different every time....its pretty random. i am using roxio cd creator 5.0. (also tried musicmatch and realplayer so i dont think it's a software issue.) ive never had problems with this before it just started like this week....nothing changed on the PC, no new hardware or software.

also PC has no internet access so i dont think its a virus, and i've tried several drivers....any suggestions??

It is possible the drive is starting to show its age. With the price of DVD combo drives now, you may be able to get a good deal on one to replace this other one.
