CD track recovery

I recently found the only existing copy of one of my old band's demo master. It was in a storage unit, and all but 2 of the 12 tracks are readable and fine. I would like to attempt to recover tracks 6 & 7, I just used CD recovery toolbox free, which proved to do nothing. I know theres alot of these types of programs out there, as I used one, years ago, to successfully recover a home made DVD that had been damaged. I don't remember the name of that program, but it would attempt to read and re-read the bad tracks indefinitely until it finally gets the data or you stop it. I know I can use a disc cleaner which may also help, but instead of trying 25 programs that dont work I'd rather ask someone here who may have recently used an (audio) CD track recovery program successfully and can point me in the right direction.
The software must be free.

You can try Minitools Power Data Recovery. First 1GB is free. Never used it for audio track recovery though.

tgell's suggestion is a good one.

Roadkill's unstoppable copier is something like the software you described using previously.

I've used imgburn's "Create Image File from Disc" option to copy problematic CDs then the "Write Image File to Disc" option to burn a new CD from the newly created ISO file which then played fine. It may be worth a quick try of the "Create Image File from Disc" option to see if it is able to complete the copy or fails a some point during that process. If it fails then you know you need to use something like PowerDataRecovery or Unstoppable Copier.
