CD-Writer current drivers

    Following the Burnout of HP Motherboard now replaced with IBM Motherboard . . . the two CD-Writers will function with WinXP Pro Built in Burner . . . but will not function with third party Burner programs such as Deep Burner . . .or Nero . . .

    Is the problem with the CD WinXP default Drivers or do I need to purchase a New CD-Writer device. . .

    Device Description (both about five years old
    COMBI RW16x10/DVD
    and
    HP CD-Writer cd12d

    Hi

    Try disabling the built in XP burner app, goto Control Panel - Admin Tools - Services, look down the list and set the startup to disabled for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service

    Re-install your 3rd party burning apps and try again.

    If you get any error messages please tell us exactly what they are.

    Hi Halo, and thank you for your comments . . . however since my Message my CD-Writer has completely stopped and I have now replaced it with a new DVD/CD Writer which came with a Free Nero 7 program. Since installing both the Hardware and Software I am now able to Burn using either Nero 7 and/or the Built in (set to Auto in the Services) Windows XP Burner . . .
