I just installed NTI Drive Backup! (http://ntius.com/default.asp) and tried to make an image of my c drive on an external usb hard drive. It started fine, let me choose what drive to make an image of and where to put it. I chose the default compression options, then when I tried to make the drive image I got the following error message:

CDDIB32 caused an invalid page fault in
    module CDRW32.DLL at 017f:100042f3.

I am working on a Win 98 SE system (want to get the drive image before I try to upgrade to xp in case something goes wrong). Intel Pentium IIIE, 700 MHz, 256 MB Ram, 30GB hard drive, 80 GB external usb drive.

Can anybody help? (I have an inquiry in with NTI support but have not heard back yet)

    Thanks,

    Karin

I heard back from tech support. I can't do what I was trying to do. A system drive image has to be a bootable image to a bootable drive. I have to invest in a cd/dvd burner.

Check your bios...sometimes you can set it to boot from a usb port!!!!

Although your system seems to be kind of old (no offense) to be having that option, but if it doesn't you'll know for future reference!!!!

How do I check my BIOS?

Also, how do I check to see if I can boot from my cd rom? I am not positive I can do that.

Yeah, it' s old but it still runs.
