I know that somebody just below this post is having the same problem, but I think my case is a little different. I just had a post about switching the cases on my system and after I did, everything appears to be going perfect except for the fact that the cd and dvd drivest are not being detected. They will eject, so i know there is power. Also, since the hard drives and rom drives have the same plug, i tried to switch them around. that time the roms were detected but not the hard drives  (i hope i didn't lose you) Just in case this makes a difference, the computer detected a floppy drive but I don't have a floppy drive  Could somebody please help!?!

And just a quick question. How long does it take for thermal compoud to make a heatsink stick to the processor? I can't set my computer upright because it keeps sliding off. :(

Are the drives displayed and detected correctly in the Bios?

Double-check the Master/Slave jumper settings on the back of the units.

The thermal compound DOES NOT hold the heatsink to the cpu...thermal compound is strictly a heat conductive compound, it serves no purpose of holding anything!! There should be clamps on the heatsink to clamp it down to the cpu socket or a bracket that is mounted on the motherboard...depending on what kind of cpu socket you have!!

hmmm.... well crap. I guess i better buy a new mobo then because the one that i placed in the case has holes for the heatsink bracket and stuff, but they do not line up with my new case :( This upgrading my computer thing was a bad idea.... first my cd rom and dvd rom do not work for some reason eventhough they were working the same way that they were hooked up before i switched cases, then my pci slots do not match up, then there are no holes for my heatsink bracket. What's next?
