CDRW Drive Question

I have been having a lot of problems with my CD RW drive. I have a CDRW LITEON|52X32X52X LTR-52327S BK. Lot of different things happen when trying to burn. Half the times the burn will complete and the other half it fails. Everytime I try to burn it starts up and goes to about 5 or 6% and just goes idle. Now from here it will sit for anywhere between 4 to 15 minutes doing nothing (my CPU light and CDRW light are blinking) and then it will either continue the burn process and complete the burning process, or it will fail he CD and tell me there was a Power Calibration Error. I am using the newest version of Nero to burn (6.6.0.1) and have the problem in previous version as well. I have used lots of different CDRs and still gotten the same results. Also tried different speeds, but results are the same. Is my CDRW drive shot? Do I need to switch programs? New drivers?
