I have a DVDRW and a CDRW/DVD combo drive in my PC, and lately the combo drive hasn't been burning successfully, and it's probably time to replace it. Before everyone starts asking why I have a combo instead of just a straight DVDROM, I'll tell you: I have the need to occasionally burn CDs at 4x. My DVDRW will not burn CDs slower than 8x. My combo drive will burn CDs at 4x. However, it is becoming difficult to find a replacement that does 4x....

so what is the question? you need help finding a drive that will burn at that speed? have you tried cleaning it (rarely works)?

it looks like my dvd burner will burn at slower speeds. - sos
