My cdrw was working fine 2 days ago. Now I no longer have an e:drive. I can no longer use the cdrw.....

Any ideas on what I can do. The latest driver has been updated........

    Thanks.....

try turning off the computer... unplugging the power and info cable... (the ribbon and 4 pin cable...) and plug them back in and reboot

first of all is there power to the cdrw? does it open and close...
go into device manager and up top click "actions" and choose "scan for hardware changes" that could work, if not, check in the BIOS that its picking up the cdrw.

The cdrw is working now. I unplugged everything and then plugged it as was suggusted..

    Why did this work?
