When buying music (I am assuming you listen to music), do you buy the actual albums of the bands or do you just burn cds? I prefer buying the actual albums because then I know I am getting good sound quality

Buy the album, rip it to puter so that I can listen to it (don't have a separate sound unit, the old stereo got retired a few years ago, it had then served long and dutifully). I want the actual album, if the band/artist is important to me. :)

A little of both, some of the bands/groups I listen to these days are from smaller record labels so their website have the downloads for sale in at least 320kbps quality.

Both. Sometimes I just want to buy online the one track of a CD that I like and make my own compilations. Great for getting driving music together :D

I always buy the album. I figure if I don't like it, I can always sell it at the secondhand shop.

I download my music using Bittorrent. It's legal here in Canada. Now that I'm going to have a regular paycheque I'll probably buy more CD's.

I bet you have them all neatly ordered alphabetically too, like the contents of your refridgerator, right? ;)

I have around 200 CDs and they are far from organized except by secular and non secular. I sold all my vinyl before I emigrated :(

I usually prefer my collection stored orderly in the racks, but my 18 month old daughter prefers them stored all around the living room floor!

I now believe her method is superior, as i constantly discover great discs that i forgot i even had!!!

I buy CD's. I like record stores, and I like picking through the CDs and reading them. I've bought a couple of downloads. It's great, because the music is right there right now, but it's not the same. CDs are in racks in alphabetical. And by that I mean "Bob Dylan" not "Dylan Bob". (No, I'm not anal)
@Mankind. I've still got my vinyl:D . My brand new turntable is ready at the repair shop when I can get to Calgary, only used six times. It crapped at exactly the same time I bought a device to record to my computer. It's been three months.

My refrigerator is a nightmare mishmash of stuff, but my music and books are all alphabetically ordered by artist/author, then title.

What can I say, the first job I ever had was working in a library. :D

Honestly, I tend more towards dowloading, because I ususally sit here in the mornings with the radio going and just pop in the song and pull it down. THere are 2 reasons for this. 1) I got tired of buying a CD for 10-15 bux and hating all but 1 or 2 songs on there, and 2) My paychecks just aren't tat big. I also like being able to make my own custom mixed CD's (mixed as in what songs and mixed as in I do some cusotm remixes of music as well) and prefer to keep it all on the PC.... am getting back up there again. at one point, I hadalmost 20 gigs of MP3's, thta HDD crashed without being backed up, and now I have about 2-3 gigs and building. I need to get a raid system or something so I can get all these HDD's hooked in... LOL
