Certain programs very slow!

This started the other night when I click on Mycomputer Icon,Internet Explorer, or go to start then control panel this is all I have found so far load slow. When I say slow we are talking like a min or longer.

I have ran Adaware and updated an ran my virus protection and have unchecked everything for the startup in msconfig. Also once they load they run fine except Explorer if I try to click on a link in this forum it will not start a new window or even load the link

Any help would be appreciated

 

Have you recently installed any new software or made any changes?

 

No new programs I ran my spy ware program and went to bed then tried the next morning and it was doing what I stated above

BTW it found nothing!

 

You say you ran a virus scan as well, was anything found there?

Also, I see that you "unchecked everything in the startup for Msconfig". Have you tried setting it back to normal startup in msconfig the way it was prior to unchecking everything and see if that corrects the problems you are experiencing?

 

I did run virus scan none found and yes went back in and rechecked what I unchecked and still had the same results!

This is the odd thing to I forgot to say I did a system restore back 3 days prior and still the same thing!

 

Try running HijackThis: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html and post back with the contents of the log.

Once you have completed the steps in the tutorial please start a new thread in the Spyware Forum letting them know what steps you completed along with what you found and cleaned out and they will then help you with the rest.
