change a bios setting

Due to the fbi virus I cannot start my computer in any mode whatsoever.
I downloaded the Kaspersky windows unlocker rescue tool to a USB drive.
I cannot use a disc as the cd-rom on that computer is not working
However when I tried to use it i could not find anywhere that said use removable drive in the boot list.
I did find that under the hard drive boot info in bios it says...2nd drive.......(USB:USB Disk Pro) as it is bracketed i assume that means it is disabled.
If this is correct how then do i enable it?
The os is windows XP sp3

By downloaded, do you mean you made a bootable USB stick.. like

Move the 2nd drive USB up in the boot order (to the top of the list), above the hard drive, usually by hitting + or -.. exit BIOS saving the changes and reboot.

 

It would help considerably if you could post the make and model of the computer as there are different methods for accomplishing the task depending on the computer make and model.

 

Thank you for your reply, Yes I made a bootable USB stick
I did as you suggested and moved the USB to the first position on the boot list. When it tried to boot up I got the following message
"Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and Press a Key"
When I do press a key I get a repeat of the above message.

This computer is not a name brand such as Toshiba, HP, or Compaq etc.

 

Can you boot the USB stick on another PC? It would seem that the stick is not bootable or the BIOS doesn't detect the USB as bootable.
You don't see the "press any key to boot.." flash up briefly?
While the PC may not be a name brand the motherboard will have some markings that can help.. m78Pro.. Asus, Asrock, MSI.. etc.
