Change Drive Letter

I put a new hard drive in my pc and loaded Win 2000 on it but stupidly left the old HDD connected so now my system drive is F: No problem I thought, I'll rename it in the registry, problem is that when I rename it to C: and reboot I get an error message saying that my pagefile is too small or does not exist, clicking OK just sends it back into a loop and I get the same error message.
I then tried booting with a Win98 startup floppy and typing fdisk /mbr but no joy there either. So I then get into the registry via a network connection and change the drive letter back to F: so that I can boot normally.

Any suggestions anyone? I'm not really bothered about the drive letter but some installers are as they are looking for C: as a default.

    Thanks in advance.

Would you be better to start all over again? This time disconnecting your old drive. Bazza
