Change harddrive

    Can i take one drive from a comp with all the os and recovery on it and put it in another comp.....the comp with the drive in it is a hp and i want to put it in a generic case:wave

    Are you only changing the case? If you are changing motherboards and all the other stuff it might have a conflict because all the os stuff, drivers, BIOS settings, and such are stored on that HD. If you change any of the hardware, it will know it when it powers up. But it might give you the option to change things. I have never done it so all of this is just what I think would happen. Good luck. Let me know what happens.

    Will it be the master or slave HDD in the new case? If a slave it may be no problem but may ask which OS to boot if a different OS is on the master.
