Change Product Key

Hey Geeks,

Anyone know of a program or a way that will properly allow me to change the Windows 2000 Product key? This is for business purposes only, customer did not send in a media kit to install on a new server I am building, I used my own, now I need to change the key.

Keyfinder will not work under Windows 2000.

try running a google search for "change xp key" 3rd link after search.

 

I don't have XP, I got 2000.

I PM'ed you with a method for XP that may work for 2000 as well, if the tool Kodo suggested doesnt. good luck

 

I don't know what that EMCO product does, but it doesn't do what I need. LoL. I will try the next step...

 

Apparently this just isn't possible.

How come this is so easy to do in XP?

 

Not sure whether it is healthy to run this program on an customers computer, but RockXP might do the trick (It can show my current Win2k key, and it says it can also change the key)

I tried it, it saw my key as well but would not allow me to change it.

Oh well.....I had the customer courier the software to me anyway. He was supposed to ship it to me days ago, I was just trying to save time. Especially since this isn't the first time this has happened. It would be nice to be able to install WIN2K on any machine and change the license key later.....

 

Yeah I found that earlier today. Kept getting an error when I tried to run it.
