change the author of MS 2005 documents

All my documents continue to post the name of the person whom once held my job. How do you change the author name of MS office XP documents? Since I have thousands... is there a way to do this in bulk? How do I prevent furture documents from having this same incorrect author name?

Click Tools > Options > User information and change the name etc

Thanks, I'll try this. What about the multitudes of documents that I created that have already been marked with the previous author? How do I bulk change these?

Hi

Try this free app http://www.easyhr.com.au/software/easy_word_properties.htm (note you dont need to enter any info on the webpage to download, leave the info boxes empty and click submit to download, only works with Word Docs.

I would at first make backup copy of all the docs you wish to change into a new folder and test this app on them first and if changed ok then you can use them as the originals.

Not tried this one http://www.tilti.com/tilti-com.software.metachanger?lang=en as it doesnt work on my current Windows version of Windows 7 x64
