    Hey everyone,

We all know the routine on how to modify the registry in order to deactivate windows and then to start the windows activation wizard in order to change the product key in Windows xp pro.

Here's my problem. This method is good prior to installing Service Pack 1. I already have SP1 installed. Even when I modify the value of the OOBETimer reg key, it still says that windows is already activated when I start the activation wizard and won't let me change my product key.

I've even tried a couple of programs that offer a GUI to change the key. When I enter in the new key it tells me that the key change has been successful but when I restart the same old key is present. What the F---!!

I can't seem to find an answer to this and it's driving me nuts. I've researched a dozen web sites but their solution is all the same. Somebody help!!!

    Dave, MCSE
