Hi'all :wave , I've been using AVG for quite a while and it's good. For some time now I've noticed in the scan window it shows 2 dll files as having been changed. These files are kernel32.dll and shell32.dll. I understand that the program recognizes these files as having been infected. Well I tried to replace the files but the system won't let me overwrite system files. So what do I do?

I have the same problem. As there have been no answers posted yet, could you possibly let me know if you find out anything about this?
I do recall Googling this and one person/site saying that these changes are not important. That's all I currently know.

Those files aren't infected. They are both part of the Windows kernel and may be changed when you download updates and patches. AVG may report they have changed if you recently downloaded patches. You can't replace these files because they are the 2 most important files of the whole OS. Just ignore the warning.

Well that's a great relief. Thank you erikske. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know. May your pockets be a magnet for $100 bills.
