changeing pentiums

    hi

    is there a way i can find out wot size and power of pentium i can put in my motherboard?

    yes, find out or post what motherboard you have..... options if you don't off hand know that info,

    1. If the PC is working then download Everest Home ( free ) and click Computer and Summary, it will tell you Motherboard Name in the resulting list, then either goto the manufacturers website with motherboard name and version and look up supported CPUs or posts the info here.

    2. If the PC is not working ( eg in bits ) then look in the motherboard itself for Manufacturer, Model and Version info.

    hi thanks for the reply i got it worked out

    i couldent tell as there was no jumpers on the board turns out its all done in the bios :rolleyes:

    1 question ive gone from a pentium 2 233mhz to a pentium 3 at 450mhz since installing it the fan on the heatsink seems 10 times louder dose the speed of the fan increse with the mhz?
