Changing Background Desktop Xp?

Hey guys n girls
Not sure what title I had to use, or if this is the right place (though I think it is - hope it anyway..).

A re-install or three ago, I had my XP set up to change the background automatically with images from a specified folder. I'd love to do that again (new fandoms, yay xD ), but for the love of sanity I cannot find out how I did it, or what I used for it.
Anyone able to help me out? Every bit of info is appreciated (please, don't tell me that XP is old / obsolete, I know )

 

In Windows XP you'll need a third-party program.

For WinXP only.......Right click on desktop, go to Properties.
Go to screen saver tab.
Use the DropDown box under Screensaver, to select My Pictures Slideshow.
Click on settings.
In new window, choose the folder, duration, size, transitions etc and then click OK.....Apply and OK again.
This is what I did and it worked for me, hope it helps you.

 

fankieh, your instructions are for a screensaver, not a desktop background aka wallpaper.

 

Ah...backgrounds, you are right, you need software for that. My mistake.
