Not possible. You can clone one hard drive to another hard drive BUT all the cloned partitions will be the same size as the original partitions. That's the nature of cloning. With the new larger hard drive, you may be able to now enlarge the partitions. That's where it gets hairy. There is a possibility of losing data as you work on moving and enlarging partitions.

I just do it by mass copying my partitions onto new ones, except for the OS. I just got a 2TB drive and that's the way I'm going. A 100GB partition is now a 500GB partition.:major A simple cut and paste.

:wave if I do this "mass copy" does that effect the OS, and the existing programs to find their data which may be on a different drive/partition, and I have forgotten the copy formula (it was Xcopy32):p or something <><>a different question: if I did the windows copy/move would that work for making a new C:\drive :wave

If you have a Seagate hard drive, or, your new one is a Seagate, then you can clone to a larger hard drive, and all your partitions will be automatically re-sized proportonately.
I have done this using a 1tb hard drive, cloning from a 1.5 tb hard drive, where the partitions were shunk to proportion, and it works well. 9(MINE WAS REALLY DONE TO PRESERVE MY MULTIPLE OPERATING SYSTEM SETUP, IN CASE MY LARGER HARD DRIVE PLAYED UP, AND I HAVE NOW PUT AWAY SAFELY, IN CASE I EVER NEED IT

Link to Seagate download (cannot find on majorgeeks-read the pdf, you will find it does much more , if needed

Read the pdf pages for teps to take
    Chapter 4. Using Seagate DiscWizard

You just need to install the wizard on your present hard drive then follow the wizard to clone the drive.
