changing motherbroad

    hi guys... i plan to change my motherbroad but heard from my frens tat if i were to change,i would nid to reformat my harddisk oso... but i dun wan to lose my files in my harddisk,can ani one help mi?

    Yes your fren is correct, best way is to hook up another hard drive as slave then drag the data accross from your ''C'' drive to the one you have just hooked up and then you will have to format ''C'' when you install on new Motherboard. When you have installed your operating system XP etc. on Master 'C' drive, Hook up the other hard drive as SLAVE that you moved the data to and then drag back to the 'C' drive, you will of course need to install all programmes from disk as these cannot be copied by dragging. If you need more help just get back to us :) There are more complicated ways such as a ghost write but this would be the simplest. Good Luck

    You can DL Partition magic ver 8.02 run from dos and split Your HDD into 2 drives, move all your data to disk 2 (logical) and setup new OS in Disk 1 (primary)
