You can zip them, that is about all you can do without re-encoding them. (which is tedeous and probably wont' help anyway). 7 zip is a good windows program. bz2 tarballs are also very good. (A linux format, but I think winzip does it.)

Zipping them will not help them play better. In fact, it will make them more difficult to play.

ekhan, this will do it: http://www.erightsoft.net/Superdc.html

If you do change the files, it will reduce the quality of the picture and it may not even fix your problem.

If you're making the file smaller, that usually means it's being compressed more, which will require more system resources as well as a loss in quality.

    What are you system specs?

Ekhan, are you talking about changing the physical file size of the video file? Or are you talking about the video screen resolution size so it wont lag your comp while playing them?

PS 128MB ram will have a heart attack trying to play a 700+mb movie....

well you could use a stripped down video playing program like BS player (www.bsplayer.com) I think. The videos are recorded at an X screen resolution the only really hope you have is re-sizing the window the video is playing in manually, or possibly finding a configuration to play the video in that X size of a window when launching.

Other then that buddy, your best bet is investing some money, and purchasing more RAM. Best bet it would cost you probably about $50 max. Get that system kicked up to 512 at least and I would say you will be able to play your vids.

k thanks for the help 512 is my motherboards max memory and i have 4 ram slots... I dunno if this makes a dfference but would it be better if i got 1 512 mb stick pc 133 or a dividend of 512mb like 2 of 256 mb or 4 of 128mb sticks??

Im trying to remember if there was any sort of restriction on the chipset size per slot for older mobos. I would look into the cost factor and see which way was cheaper, you could do 1 512 chip and call it good on the cheap factor...

not sure of the places that sell pc133 anymore, check www.pricewatch.com or www.newegg.com , or www.zipzoomfly.com those are generally the cheapest/ best sites....

It's here at Majorgeeks now. I didn't know that. http://www.majorgeeks.com/Super_d5117.html

There is nothing that will help your current setup play video. As far as your future plans, get more memory.
