Changing to mobo w new chipset (Intel 915P (Grantsdale P) reinstal OEM MS XP help!

Okay I want to upgrade my mobo from:
This MSI (ms 7060) with mobo chipset 661FX and 964

to this Albatron for obvious reasons which has the mobo chipset North Bridge: Intel 915P (Grantsdale P), South Bridge : Intel ICH6

Now I've been informed by the supplier that I will have to reformat and reinstall windows for this new chipset. I have a LEGAL OEM MS XP Home edition and I have vaguely heard refrence to MS making the OEM license tied to the mobo?!?

Can anyone clarify this for me? Is there a way around this? Can I tell MS my old mobo fried I can't get that make and model anymore and thus have had to obtain a new one? I really don't want to fork out more money for an OS and Office when they are only 10 months old and are completely legal. The system in ques is PC1 below. Any and all advice, refrences etc. would be greatly appreacited I don't want to be forced to do a "magic jellybean" on a legit product.

 

When you call in your numbers they will ask you how many pc's is this on? As long as its one pc its ok, if its for the motherboard, hard drive, or what ever, wunder why they put the sticker on the case. lol. ed

Thanks for the response I am currently doing research and did come across that you can phone MS. So do you tell them you want to upgrade or should I say replace an obsolete malfuctioning mobo??? Still confused about this but I'm hoping it will be as easy as it sounds.

 

I dont think you have to tell them squat, sometimes they ask why and sometimes not, the last time i got a mb i told them the pc was full of spyware and i was tired of messing with it. lol. ed
