Changing Updates Settings In Windows 8.1

I originally had things set to "Check for Updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". I had installed some optional updates yesterday along with a Definition Update for Windows Defender. I checked settings and this is what I see:


I uninstalled those optional updates. I can't change the settings back to the way I had and want them. Right clicking on the Windows Update shortcut I placed on my desktop doesn't bring up "Run as Administrator". I am the Administrator of my computer and the only one that uses it.

Could CryptoPrevent have changed this setting when it updated group policy? Any other ideas?

 

Hey people. I found the solution online. I had to delete a couple of Registry Keys. Everything's copasetic (is this how it's spelled?) now. Thanks anyway.

 

This is what I used and the word is spelled "copacetic":

"If you want to change your settings on Windows Updates manualy (not from registry) you need to delete added subkey under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU to leave only the "default" subkey."

There were two registry entries below the default one that I deleted and restarted my computer.

Hopefully, this will help someone else with the same issue.
