Changing User's Settings

    I want to know if I can change the setting for a user's screen saver preferences by using the registry? It's a Windows 2000 machine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Indeed yes, its under HKEY_USERS/UserID. Change it under .DEFAULT for all new users you create, and also the login screen.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
    HKEY_USERS\UserID(or .DEFAULT)\Control Panel\Desktop

    To change most of these entries, use the Desktop icon in Control Panel. The


    SCRNSAVE.EXE REG_SZ Filename

    Default: (None)

    Specifies the screensaver executable filename.
