changing video formats

hi there

Whenever i try to convert my .avi videos to .amv format using AMV convert tool, the convert tool converts only 1 sec of the video before it crashes (amvtransform.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close).

How do i get past this problem

 

Online converters are useful. They can do more than any desktop program I know of. These are good: Media Convert and Media Converter.

I have tried media converter and converted avi vid to amv but wen i put it on the avm vid on the mp4 player it says format error ,anybody any ideas ,cheers in advance

 

Have you tried using a format different than .AMV? Try .MP4 as it is generally a more commonly used format for portable media devices; and try converting with Quick Media Converter. I haven't used it personally, but I gave the link to a friend and he loves it for his player... check it out:
