John Lennon's killer denied parole for 4th time

The man who shot John Lennon outside his Manhattan apartment in 1980 has been denied parole for a fourth time in the United States. Mark David Chapman, who murdered John Lennon 26 years ago, will now remain at Attica Correctional Facility in New York for at least two more years for shooting the former Beatle outside his Manhattan.

A three-member parole panel declared Chapman will have to stay in jail for at least two more years because of the "bizarre nature" of his crime. The decision came one day after what would have been Lennon's 66th birthday.

I agree entirely, Bladesofhalo… (at least with the part about "never gettin out.")

Although I seriously doubt that his condition will ever be "stabilized." From everything that I've read about his case; he evidently has (for all these years), totally refused to undergo any kind of "therapy" or to take any medication whatsoever while in prison. Luckily it looks like this loony-tune will be held in Attica Correctional Facility in upstate New York prison for a long time to come – hopefully for the rest of his life.

Chapman's actually lucky that he got jailed in New York state, where there is no death penalty and they actually "allow" parole. Although there is no death penalty in the state where I live here in the US; the parole board here never, ever grants parole to anyone convicted of murder. I mean they have the hearings (just for "show" and all); however, they always seem to find some reason to keep them longer - which sounds good to me!

I can remember many years ago reading an interview of Chapman done by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reporter Jack Jones where Chapman was mostly rambling on about his time in police custody where he came off as totally wacked out and he was definitely extremely paranoid and delusional - with good reason, evidentally...

At that time he was held in a protective environment of the prison separate from the general population because there were convicted killers serving life sentences who would just love to kill him and become the next Jack Ruby (the man who killed Lee Harvey Oswald).

    Good Luck!

Well I hope the two years more confinement goes on every time he goes before the board. He shouldn't even have the right to go before a board for that matter!!
