I just tried to boot my new build (asus M4A78T-E motherboard) and I get a fatal chassis intrusion after it goes through most of the boot sequence. I have checker the clrtc jumper and taken out the battery but I still get the same result. This is the second identical motherboard i have tried with the same result. Help!

    Greetings, budrusty.

From what I've read, not all AMI BIOS setups have a chassis intrusion disable function, but it's worth a look (assuming you haven't checked already).

Other than that, you might try pulling the jumper again and re-seating it, even try putting the jumper in its alternate position in case it's mislabeled (don't laugh - I've seen it happen).

Also, make sure that all panels on the machine are secure, and that no cables, screws, or standoffs are contacting the motherboard.

    Hi Bud,

Chassis Intrusion is a Switch mounted so that it actuates when the Case is opened. If your case has no such switch or you don't care to use it then the Alarm can be disabled in BIOS SETUP. Have a look. When you see it it will be obvious.

    Luck, Jim
