    I've been using Aol Instant Messanger for a while now but I've just grown tired of it. I've used Yahoo messenger, MSN messenger, ICQ and IRC but not big fans of those, would like something extremely basic. Something that barely uses up any CPU and is relatively small in file size.

    I don't know of any other ones other than those big name ones so I'm hoping someone can help me.

    are you looking for a chat program, or a network. youve hit on all the major networks, and trillian is good on cpu space.
