chdsk

    i've been looking through forums and i'm wondering what chdsk is i looked on google and i dident get anything is it a program of some sort??

    Did you mean CHKDSK? CheckDisk aka ScanDisk, Windows own integrated utility to scan for and/or repair cross-linked entries in the filesystem.
    Close all programs then do this: Start > Run > chkdsk > OK

    This will only do a basic scan, no repair and it will close automatically when done. See the link given with 'ScanDisk' above for futher details.
