   Anyone know if Vista's Check Disk is any good? If not, are there any alternatives which do a similar job?

   I'm no expert on chkdsk or Vista (I use XP) but I would think that the diagnostic tool from your drive manufacturer would do the job. Most of them will check and repair the file structure in addition to the drive's overall health and integrity.
