I ran a Check Disk on a startup and during stage 2 it said "correcting error
in index $I130 for file 48421". Then, it ran a long list of "recovering
orphaned file (e.g. Gambier (48430), Guadacanal (48433), Midway (48422), etc. into file 48421.
The other stages went fine and then the computer began its normal start up
and started the check disk again and it did the same thing. I finally
cancelled it and the computer seems to be running fine. What is the problem
here and how do i resolve it? Thanks

Go to the Start Button, and type cmd and hit the enter key.

I n the DOS window this opens, type in the following : chkntfs /d

    Hit the Enter key.

This will reset check disk to the default setting.
