LOL. No prob. Halo and I just had the same urge at the same time. I would have deleted mine, but I can't. It's the sentiment that counts. :)

Yes GT we must have both been watching the live feed and once safely up we must have been typing at same time... :)

This deserves two threads for maximum exposure ;)

The thought is was counts, Gary.
I had planned on watching it, but ended up in bed. Have been sick for about a week now, and tried to get a little extra sleep.

    Congrats Star and everyone.

    Fantastic launch! :)

I always enjoy the NASA threads. Gives us all a chance to support and acknowledge the space program and it's great accomplishments.

Plus, we get to congatulate our buddy Star and the launch team. :)

Did anyone hear the "baked beans" tradition? I just caught the tailend of it switching channels and missed the whole explanation.

Thanks for the kind words; it was nice, after a very stressful (non-work related) week, to have it end up going so well. Keeping in mind all our best imagery equipment is mounted on the boosters for data, here's some highlights of today's launch:

Mission managers met early this morning and determined all was go for launch.

The STS-115 Launch Team assembles for the task at hand; I'm fourth from the left.

The crew was extremely enthusiastic to finally get on with their mission.

Our launch team has never failed to secure a hatch before launch; here the flight crew double-checks us, just to be sure.

Commander Brent Jett pushes the launch button...

    The time-honored tradition of a post-launch party in full-swing.

As always, Jack had the most beer...damn lightweight.

We locked Farley in the men's room; man, was he pissed.

Well, back to work and get the backup ship ready in case of a rescue!

And for Matacumbie, the aft SRB is bean-powered. ;)
