This is a very small minor annoyance that has been bugging me for so long it feels like what Chinese water torture could possibly feel like.

I've been getting this annoying popup when I switch pages on the internet (IE7). "This page contains secure and unsecure items. Do you want to display nonsecure items?"

It asks me this over and over and over and over and over ad nauseum every time I change a page on some websites. I don't see what difference it makes.

Can I turn this thing off!!!!!

try this.. Step 1: Go to Tool >> Internet Options

Step 2: Select the "Security" Tab and then click on the "Custom Level" button

Step 3: Scroll down until you see the option: "Display mixed content". Sect the option "Enable"

Step 4: Click Ok, Then you will get a "Security Warning" pop-up. Click Yes

Although this is an annoyance it should only happen when on a" https" page on which your personal information would be entered. It is a good thing to know that some of your data may not be secure and you can make a decision on weather or not to continue. Unfortunately i see more and more sites every day that direct you to "https" pages for the whole site after clicking on the first secure page. Be wary when shutting off a security warning as it will no longer function when a real threat is present!

Thanks for your help. I found the option in Security you mentioned. I could let it prompt or disable or enable it. It was on prompt. I disabled it for now. I went to my bank. No problem. I went to the site where it's the biggest annoyance, which is https://www.healthgrades.com/. It's where I go to look up doctor names and addresses (I'm a medical transcriptionist) and the site worked fine. I used to prompt me on every page. I can always change it again if it causes any problems.

Thanks again for your help. Sometimes the little things can bug you and bug you until the build up to a big nasty annoyance.
