chipset cooler for asus m3n78-vm

    Hi my chipset cooler gets very hot and pc shuts off when gaming.. when i say hot i mean hot. so i want to replace the heatsink with a active aftermarket jobby. can anyone tell me wats best.. what would and wouldent fit this board.

    Depends on the $$$ you wanna spend..&..if you are overclocking or not.

    Others here may have better solutions/ideas..but check out the coolmaster V8 or almost any of the noctua coolers the majority support you chip set and will all have brackets that you will have to add onto your motherboard first.

    Its for the chipset not cpu.. so the northbridge. thats the thing that gets really hot. any ideas?

    isent size a problem? how do they attach if the holes dont line up? ty for help so far.

    Not sure how that attach...never had to do personally...i did see someone mention hot glue?? but not sure if you wanna attempt that on your rig!!
