ive settled on an Abit mobo .. and the chipset fan is known to break down .. so i was wondering what a good replacement for it would be ... i am considering this:

my main concern is to the need for a fan .. if i have enough circulation due to my case fans is a nothbridge chipset heatsink w/ a fan really needed?

What what what what what?!? EEEp! I know its not that good, but its not stopped working for me :S

Yes passive will do you fine, unless you are overclocking, that is, then active would be better.

with the abits, the one with the old design is the one that breaks down. the new design (with the sturdier looking heatsink) doesn't break down as often if at all from what i heard. Anyhow, the zalman one will do just fine for you. the thermaltake one from the second link will definitely need epoxy to hold down if you use an 865/875 motherboard

if i was to get RAM sinks i would think i'd need epoxy ... im thinking that would be better than the sticker or whatever they put on them to make them stick to the chips with out pins or the like
