Why are you trying to install the chipset driver AFTER you've installed SP3? It should be the other way around. Did the OS have SP3 in it or is the SP3 a separate install?

I installed XP Pro slipstreamed with sp3 and the product code. I had to go to the manufacturers website to get drivers. The chipset was one of the ones it didnt have in device manager. The one on the website did not work it just gives me the a BSOD when i restart. The other drivers work, I even tried the other chipset drivers for other OS's non work.:banghead

Not sure how to put a screen shot into this reply, It is in other devices and has a question mark with a tiny exclamation point on it and says SM bus controller

In the device manager you can usually trouble shoot the problem and it will detect the drivers and ask you if you wish to install them, have you tried that yet?

From What i know of, it only has slight effects on some applications, but you should be able to ring intel tech support and they can fix it up for you.

    Hi

Yes the SM Bus controls the hardware sensors like temp and voltage, so if not working properly you may get weird errors and crashes.

What is the full BSOD error message as it may link to something else causing this, also can you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and your PC work ok?

This is wrong as i was thinking of something else, The Intel Tech support online has a IRC channel which you can join, they should be able to help you out there.
