Im trying to do a chkdsk through the cmd is because my laptop recently came up with a missing hal.dl_ error and trying to rectify through the recovery cmd but it wouldnt let me till i did a CHKDSK.

    So i type in:

    CHKDSK.

    It then comes up with:

The volume serial number is 9ce6-2f57
    CHKDSK is checking the volume...
    0% completed.

I left it for about 3-4hours and it was still at 0%!

Can anyone give me some help on how to fix this? I really need my laptop for work!

    Many Thanks
    Ryan.

If this thread, and the other thread from RTLKyuubi are on the same drive/PC, I'd say it's time to run a deep diagnostic on the hard drive. If a 2nd drive is available, hook it up and see what happens. If a 2nd drive acts in the same manner, then a motherboard issue may be at hand. Here's the link to the other thread from RTLKyuubi : http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=156407
