chkdsk runs on start up every time

    as the heading says, chkdsk starts every time I start up/reboot, irrespective of whether there was an issue/crash. Have I accidentally switched this feature on & if so, where, and I'll switch it off.

    Click on Start>Run,and type regedit then press Enter,then navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
    Change the BootExecute entry from:
    autocheck autochk * /.........
    To:
    autocheck autochk *
    Exit regedit.




    Did that work?

    unfortunately BootExecute is already at autocheck autochk *
