Choppy lag and slow computer

Hello Forum,

I have a tad bit of a problem with my PC lag-wise. The pc is running slower and slower of late, and booting up used to take a minute, but now it needs a good 5 to 10 minutes. This wasnt a problem, but yesterday I have installed a game called Final Fantasy XIV, its in open beta still, but the gameplay is choppy and laggy.

I think that my HDD is dying, yesterday defragment using Auslogics defrag took over 6 hours, and while I play my pc keeps making a cracking sound.

So I would like to ask for advice if my HDD or processor are the cause of the lag, I think my video card is good enough. I included my hardware specs in a attachment.

EDIT: I also set all the graphics settings of the game to lowest, the lag remained unchanged. After defrag it reduced, but still it lags a lot.
