I'd say you don't have enough RAM to do anything more than run XP.

How do you get 1.25gb of RAM? Maybe it's a typo and it's 3.25gb of RAM? That's about what XP will show as having when you have 4gb installed. That's the limit for 32-bit OS so not anything you can do there.

What browser are you using? Newer IE would make playback worse than what you would have seen 5 years ago on the same hardware. I would try different browsers and if that doesn't help, I probably wouldn't go too crazy with an older XP machine anymore.

I hold on to systems until they die a horrible death, I hate changing out computers. Even I am getting rid of my 32-bit XP because it's just not fast enough to function reasonably anymore. I like the dell outlet small business pc's. By the time i would mess with RAM, video cards, accelerators and settings, I could have a win 7, 8gb RAM PC in days from the outlet for about $650.

its not hardware related...i had vids running smooth b4...on 1080p etc...i use opera...google chrome has it choppy too.
i just realize that higher screen res (1280x1024) has bigger/more chops..
