Chosing a video card

im going to upgrade my fx 5200 to a new video card and im purchasing it at canada computers.

i can spend 100-130 max

im looking for a card that will let me play latest games at med settings , not really a hardcore gamer

what card should i buy

my current system specs(u mite wanna no):
300W PSU
p4 2.6 ghz , 768 mb ddr ram

 

first of all, what interface is it; PCI express or AGP? going by your specs im guessing AGP but maybe im wrong.

MUCH better performance than a normal 6600

ok, the ones i picked out for ya are both AGP so check those out

 

yep i think ill go with the ati , as u said its more powerful but like i always bought nvidia cards

so im not sure if i should switch to ATI , are they better cuz i love the nvidia features

 

personally i prefer Nvidia but in this case, ATI is the better choice. It has performance close to, if not beating, the 6600gt which on that site you're ordering from cost over $190. Do you have to order from this company or does it just have to be in Canada? If its just Canada then check out www.tigerdirect.ca

 

not really its just closer to my house and i know tiger direct but i never ordered online so yeh thats a problem

 

o ok just get it from the store then. after lookin around the canada tiger direct its not really any different in price so your good gettin it from the store

 

the x700 is nice, but if i were in your situation, id try to save up s little more because you can get a MUCH better card like the 6800XT, which is at $170 after a rebate
