Ok, how many of you send out "real" Christmas Cards instead of just e-mailing Merry Christmas to someone?

I do. I'm in my late 60's and know several older people who do not own or no longer use a computer. I snail mail Christmas cards to those people. The rest get a Jacquie Lawson Christmas card. Some might also get a separate email with the news for the past year with some pictures.
It takes me quite awhile to go through my "Card list" check that mailing addresses and email addresses are correct and compose an email with a personal paragraph to everyone that receives the email.

I always sent Christmas cards via the post office until last year. It was the first year I had not sent them to all friends and family. This year I am sending a few to friends and family that I don't see often because they live across the country. Also sending them to a few elderly and some who have illnesses and to those who have lost family members this year. Sometimes a little thing like a card can mean a lot to someone. Well worth the little effort it takes.

I always send out cards via snail mail, one year I took a pic of my cat under the tree and had cards made up to send out . cat card.JPG

We always send out our Christmas cards by snail mail as it is more personal and shows you have made some effort to write the cards to people you care about but may not be able to see as often as you would like ;)
The other thing good about sending cards to the people you don't see so often is you can add a short summary sheet of any of the important news affecting your family during the year so they know what has been happening in your family.

I don't even read ecards as they get judged as spam and are deleted before I see them. My reason for this is that I used to receive so many supposed Christmas cards from suppliers and traders but mostly they were just blatant advertising so now all Christmas, New Year and Easter cards go to the bit bucket.
My family and friends know this so would never send me an ecard :)

I still do for so for family and close friends and for those I actually get customised cards that I can edit, then for others general boxed cards and the odd few email cards.

I haven't sent them in years. Maybe sending them to my customers would be a lot nicer than sending cards via email.
