christmas gift ideas??????

me and my bro are looking to get my dad something for christmas. i dont know what to get him. he likes computers (doesnt really need any upgrades). i cant really think of anything to get him. what are some cool gadgets or some cool pc accesories that are in the ball park of 60$

512, or 1 gig USB key (usb external HD) I callem usb keys...Also, a pair of good wooly socks as sitting on your *** in front of a pc makes for damn cold FEET

What does he like to do on pc? some new software, game, theres a lot of new gadgets out there, i'm sure if we knew some of his intersts we could come up with something kewl 4 him.

 

well I was just figuring what would be great, if the socks are a no go, how about a usb cofee heater, or a new wide screen LCD monitor would certainly brighten his day.

hmmm his intrest...he doesnt really play games (me and my bro got that coverd ) he likes photogarphy but im not sure what to get him there he already has everything, nice camera, bag, lence, the memory card is perhaps the only thing he doesnt have, well he has a one gig but it would be nice if i could get him a bigger one. anyone know of some sales that are going on for CFII?

and as someone mentioned earlyer i think he might enjoy a nice wireless laser mouse with a charging dock. or is laser too expensive and should i stick to optical?

Ah, I loath gift cards. After every holiday I'm left with a stack of gift cards from ten different stores. So then I have to go to these ten different stores and buy ten different trinkets when I could have used the total combined amount and bought myself something nice. I'm very much in favor of the gift cards that can be linked to your credit cards like American Express or Visa. That way I just use my credit card at any store to buy what ever i want.

 

Yes, I just got my granddaughter a visa gift card linked to my checking or ATM or something. I usually send her one from a specific store til I found out she still hadn't used it all months later cuz she couldn't find anything at that certain store. I think this will be much better.

 

Being a college student I always ask for cash but none of my relatives feel right just giving cash so I usually get a bunch of gift cards. This year I made sure to let everyone know that if they weren't going to give cash, to get a visa gift card instead. That way I can purchase anything I want and I'm not limited to any certain store. Good choice!

 

i will definatly keep that in mind if i decide to get a gift card. but we were are planning on going in with my mom and buying him a nano and some CDs

 

@ OverCooked - I can understand, cash seems so impersonal but on a little card with fancy art work it's different, it's ok. Hope it works out for you this time

laser mouse w/docking is more expensive...but i'm not the greatest internet shopper w/o docking seems to be in ur range...Graphics Tablet maybe if he edits pics...its in ur range. There is the fun stuff like a lava lamp that plugs into ur usp...remind him of his hippy days Happy Shopping, Peg
