On a previous thread I posted I got a reply from "psco2007". Here is the link - http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=290465
    It read as follows:

I am getting ready today (in a few minutes) to install a Samsung 850Pro 256GB SSD onto an ASUS p5ND motherboard and I am wanting to know if there is something in particular that I am supposed to look out for. Yes, I am aware that my moboard is SATA II; but, have been told on this forum that SATA III SSD will perform on SATA II motherboard.

    Thanks for any advice/input.

I believe he was referring to the 3GB SATA port. His motherboard has both 3GB/sec(SATA II) and 6GB/sec(SATA III) connectors. He connected his SATA III SSD to the SATA II connector. Because he hooked up to the slower connector, his SSD was bottlenecked to the slower SATA II speed. Because he didn't initially realize his mistake, he thought his SSD wasn't working as promised. Since your motherboard doesn't have both SATA II and SATA III connectors, this will not be an issue for you.

You will, however, only get the SATA II speeds from your SATA III drive because you only have SATA II connections.

    Just Playin,

Yeah. I kinda thought that was the direction.

    mdonah,

Yep. I was, and am, fully aware of that. I now have the new SSD installed with the same Win7 Pro OS that I have been using and DO notice a significant improvement. I know it was a cart before the horse maneuver; but, now I will start to research choosing and putting together purchasing a new SATAIII MoBo, processor, and RAM. I'm sure my cart before the horse procedure will introduce migrating issues in the long run but I needed to get a fresh OS install now. I didn't see any sense in doing it on a presently owned HDD. Thanks for your input.
