I lost my win7 cs start menu and replaced it but it wont save after i restart my computer.

I pretty sure they stopped development of that program, so it might be compatible with the latest Windows.
There are other options, maybe as cheap as 5 bucks.

 

It worked on Win10 but the May update did away with it.
It works but when I shut down and restart I have to reload the the program again.
What are the other options?

I never understood all of the hype about having each program that is installed on your computer show up on a start menu. There are many programs on my computer that I use once in a blue moon. I can see the start menu being useful if you have 20 programs, and you use each of those with equal frequency.

I have programs that I use a lot in the task bar- 98% of the time that I need to open a program, it's right there. The thing that's annoying, though, is that if my hands on are on the keyboard, it's annoying to have to move to the mouse to choose the program. I should put all of those same programs into a start menu, and then I could use a keyboard shortcut to access them. Do any of the programs work like that (a smallish start menu that can be accessed with a keyboard shortcut)?

You can use a shortcut key combination for each program you use.
